We recap some stories you may have missed including cash game dollars at GG and EPT Sochi is back in March.
Conor Beresford wins PocketFives 2020 leaderboard
2020 was a year with very few poker leaderboards with the exception of the hotly contested PocketFives Onine Poker Player of the Year title.
In perhaps the biggest year ever for online MTTs the big winner of 2020 was the UK’s Conor ‘1_conor_b_1’ Beresford, who pipped Brunno Botteon to the top spot.
Beresford thrived in the high roller MTTs in 2020 booking several six figure scores and now has $14.7 million in lifetime career cashes on tracked sites.
GGPoker add Cash Dollars
Play with C$
A new currency is coming to GGPoker, Cash Game Dollars (C$).
Similar to Tournament Dollars (T$) they have a 1:1 ratio with USD but can only be used for cash games. They will be awarded in special promotions and giveaways.
Like T$ they have no expiry date but you can only convert them into real money by making a profit with them at the tables.
EPT Sochi set for March
The only live EPT event of 2020 looks set to also be the first EPT event of 2021, as EPT Sochi gets underway from March 29 with a RUB 175,000 Main Event.
Is it too soon considering most of the world is once again locked down? Time will tell on that one, but it likely will mostly be an event for Russian nationals like the last one.
Satellites and Spin & Go tournaments to qualify are already in the PokerStars lobby.
What poker vloggers sound like
We stumbled across this very funny new poker YouTube channel today and in particular liked this satire on what poker vloggers sound like to people outside the game. It looks like it is worth subscribing to folks.
Would you play EPT Sochi in March or is that too soon? Let us know in the comments:
